Evergrande has made $83.5 million bond curiosity fee: Chinese language media

Evergrande has remitted the funds for a key curiosity fee that was due Sept. 23 — forward of a 30-day grace interval that ends Saturday, in keeping with Chinese language state media Securities Instances.

The $83.5 curiosity fee on Evergrande’s March 2022 offshore bond had been intently watched by buyers because the closely indebted property developer warned twice in September that it could default.

The Securities Instances report stated Evergrande has remitted the $83.5 million by way of Citibank. Citibank declined to touch upon this report.

Evergrande has missed 4 different coupon funds in September and October.

The property big, which is buckling underneath the burden of greater than $300 billion in debt, has been struggling to boost funds.

The report stated Evergrande plans to make the curiosity fee in time for the Oct. 23 deadline.
